Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and SaaSTree LLC, a Virginia limited liability company (“WisdomRoots,” “we,” “us”), governing your use of the WisdomRoots mobile app and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. The Service
WisdomRoots lets you write private reflections and compose Future Letters — messages you schedule to be delivered by email to a recipient on a future date. You may use a local-only preview mode without an account; full features require an account created with an email one-time passcode or with Sign in with Google.
3. Future Letter delivery — important limitations
Future Letters are delivered by email on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee delivery. In particular:
- Delivery depends on the recipient email address being valid and able to receive mail at the scheduled time; we are not responsible for incorrect addresses, full mailboxes, spam filtering, or recipient mail providers rejecting or discarding messages.
- Letters scheduled far into the future depend on the continued operation of the Service and our email provider. We cannot guarantee the Service will operate indefinitely.
- We are not liable for non-delivery, delayed delivery, or misdelivery of any letter. Do not rely on the Service as the sole means of communicating time-critical, legal, financial, medical, or otherwise essential information.
You are responsible for the accuracy of recipient details and for having an appropriate basis to send a message to the recipient you choose.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the reflections and letters you create (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate the Service — including transmitting a letter’s content to our email provider to deliver it to your chosen recipient. We do not use Your Content for advertising or to train AI models.
5. Premium subscriptions and payments
WisdomRoots offers an optional paid Premium plan.
- Purchases go through the app store. Premium is sold as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account, and the store — not WisdomRoots — handles your payment details.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions. Monthly and annual Premium plans are auto-renewable subscriptions. A subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Current prices are shown in the app before you purchase.
- Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, it begins when you start the subscription; if you cancel before the trial ends you will not be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase the subscription.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
- Lifetime purchase. A “lifetime” Premium purchase is a one-time, non-renewing purchase that grants Premium features for as long as the Service operates.
- Refunds are handled by the app store under its policies; please contact the store for refund requests.
- If Premium ends, content you have already created remains yours and stays accessible; only the creation of new content beyond the free limits is affected.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- send unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or hateful content, or to harass or impersonate any person;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or use the Service to deliver content to people who have not consented to hear from you where consent is required;
- infringe others’ intellectual property or privacy rights;
- attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the Service’s security or infrastructure, or access data that is not yours.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email (and, if used, your Google account) secure, since sign-in uses email one-time passcodes or Sign in with Google. Notify us at support@wisdomroots.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the in-app Privacy screen). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. Some letters scheduled for future delivery may not be delivered if your account is deleted before the delivery date.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT LETTERS WILL BE DELIVERED.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WISDOMROOTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY FAILURE TO DELIVER A LETTER. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state courts located in Loudoun County, Virginia, or the federal courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction there.
